PTI chairman says those afraid to come out should sit inside their homes; asks workers 'not to give up'

Expressing remorse on the death of the child who was killed due to VIP protocol in Karachi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has announced he will make sure traffic is not halted for any VIP in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

"If a person is scared of the threats; [he or she] should sit at home, there is no need to come out," he said, while addressing a gathering in Lodhran on Thursday.

A 10-month-old girl died on Wednesday when her family was unable to enter Civil hospital due to security measures in place for the arrival of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other leaders.

Following the victory of party leader Jahangir Tareen in the NA-154 Lodhran by-elections, Imran asked his workers not to "give up the fight against status quo".

"There will be ups and downs in this fight against status quo but never give up," he said.

Elaborating on his agenda, Imran said they will build a Pakistan with an ideology supporting human lives and end status quo, adding mere politics was not their agenda.

James | 8 years ago | Reply This must be some type of Joke because here in Peshawar army / FC soldiers will halt traffic as and when they please for their officers convoys. It's usual occurrence here. Last time i saw an Army/ FC officer block roads was 4 hours ago, on 7:00 PM while i was out for Esha Prayers. A common man in Peshawar is averagely stopped almost 2 times everyday for an army convoy when an officer of theirs is commuting. Civilians' lives means nothing to these "protectors" of land.

Illogical, irrational and inhuman statements of PPP leaders clutched our hearts. These Zardaris must be ashamed and should have shown some respect to the poor family. Imran Khan has urged some thing encouraging against VVIP culture while all other politicians are just giving reasons to have it. Bilawal Zardari must apologise for this negligence on the part of his security staff.
