Emerging tech: Conference held to cultivate research

CECOS University President Muhammad Tanveer Javed was the chief guest at the event

At least 60 academics from 27 countries presented their research papers at the International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET) held in the city on Sunday. These included scholars and international speakers from the United States, United Kingdom, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. The conference aimed to inspire students to explore new areas of research in emerging technologies. It was jointly organised by CECOS University, Sarhad University and supported by Higher Education Commission and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Islamabad. CECOS University President Muhammad Tanveer Javed was the chief guest at the event. He awarded shields and certificates to the participants and appreciated efforts to hold a session that involves international speakers. He said, “Students from both CECOS and Sarhad universities will learn from experts from across the globe.” Speaking on the occasion, CECOS University Vice Chancellor Dr Riaz A Khattak said only 30% of the research papers were accepted for ICET after peer review by international counterparts to ensure quality.
