British PM’s aide on Pakistan and Afghanistan meets army chief

Discussion focused on regional security situation with special emphasis on Afghanistan

British Prime Minister’s special representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan called on army chief General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the overall regional security situation with particular reference to Afghanistan came under discussion during the meeting.

New US ambassador calls on army chief at GHQ

Earlier during the day, the COAS held a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif where regional security situation was discussed in detail.

Similarly, on Friday, the ambassador-designate of the United States to Pakistan David M Hale met army chief and discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security situation.
