PIA flight makes emergency landing in China following bomb hoax

PIA flight had departed from Islamabad and was bound for Tokyo

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight made an emergency landing on Friday following a bomb hoax at China's Tianjin airport, Express News reported.

The PIA flight took off from Beijing and was enroute to Tokyo when it made the emergency landing. The PIA flight had departed from Islamabad from where it was scheduled to travel to Tokyo after a stopover in China.



According to reports, the bomb hoax originated in China. Further information and source of the presence of the bomb is yet to be ascertained by Chinese officials.



Meanwhile, a thorough search of the plane was conducted and passengers were evacuated from the aircraft, after which Chinese authorities gave clearance for the flight to continue its journey.
