KARACHI:

Chinese Commercial Counsellor in Karachi Zang Zhihua has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is intertwined with the economic development of Pakistan.

“The CPEC framework is designed to meet the needs of the economic development of Pakistan. The projects under CPEC will create jobs and make Pakistan the heart of regional trade and connectivity,” Zhihua said while speaking at a seminar on CPEC at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) on Tuesday.

Commenting on the friendship fostered between the two nations, Zhihua said, “Pakistan has a special place in the hearts of Chinese people. When you ask Chinese what they think about Pakistan and its people, you only sense deep affection and respect in their responses.”

He said that projects like Gwadar port, Lahore-Karachi Motorway, expansion projects of Karakoram Highway are all under way and are expected to have positive economic and social effects on Pakistan.

What's the status of Gwadar - what percentage completed? Does anyone notice that while CPEC gets lots of press there is never any details - why is that? It's as though all the CPEC articles are planted by the govt.
