PESHAWAR: After making an impact on the lives of over 94,000 school children in Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa, Right to Play, a Canadian development organisation, is now looking to enhancing the life of this project.

The organisation is involved in imparting physical and social activities to students through sports.

These views were expressed by the provincial coordinator of Right to Play, Humayun Khan, at a meeting with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at the CM Secretariat on Sunday.

At the meeting, Humayun said the organisation helped more than one million children around the world with mental and physical abilities. He added, “Right to play is working with more than 200 government schools in Mansehra, Mardan and Peshawar districts and offering play-based learning activities to teach children essential skills of life with fun and games as an incentive.”

Humayun Khan added, “These activities have proved fruitful as schools have reported a surge in attendance of the students and they are taking keen interest in studies.”

He further said the organisation is working with community volunteers, who serve as coaches in schools. According to Humayun, young children with strong leadership skills working as junior leaders took the programme a notch ahead in their respective schools and communities.

“Play provides a chance to students to engage with each other and improve their communication and decision-making skills,” he said.

On the occasion, a training officer at the organisation, Farzana Khan, said Right to Play has worked with around 6,000 junior leaders and requested the CM to hold a meeting with the children to boost their morale.
