RAWALPINDI: Police have booked two Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) candidates for UC chairperson and vice-chairperson for violating election code of conduct by taking out a rally. Waris Khan police registered a case against Bakhtiar Kiani, JI candidate for chairperson in union council (UC) 31, as well as the vice-chairperson for taking out a “large rally”. Kiani, on the other hand, has protested against the case. He said the ruling party candidates are also taking out rallies but no action was taken against them. He said action against only the opposition parties amounted to pre-poll rigging.
