CHARSADDA:

Activists of PTI have decided to surround the Wapda office in Charsadda on Monday to protest against prolonged power outages. The announcement was made during a meeting held in Charsadda on Saturday.

“Wapda disrupts power supply for long hours to defame the K-P government,” PTI district organiser Abid Khan told participants at the meeting. “The public knows the power company comes under the federal government and the provincial government cannot interfere in its affairs.”

Speaking on the occasion, other PTI activists said electricity is produced in K-P and therefore, the people of the province should be given priority. The speakers said that Wapda was provoking locals against the provincial government through prolonged power outages. A large number of activists decided to hold a demonstrated at Wapda office on Monday.

“We will take to streets at 10am and protest till prolonged load-shedding is stopped,” one of the workers said.
