    That was TERRIBLE!

Where are the jets? One Rafale Dassault? And that too a French manufactured plane? Where are the HAL fighters? Is it still 1993 in the Indian defence establishment? Why did ET even bother with a slideshow of some dinky prop planes?

Even the Ideas show in Karachi has some locallly manufactured JF-17′s from this century, along with a live fire armoured/infantry/amphibious demo war game every two years it happens.

India needs to step up their game. Wasn’t India supposed to have like American jets and the best of the E.U, not to mention the latest generation of Russian Sukhois and MiGs. Disappointment.

No seriously a good move by India. But I was hoping to see more modern fighter jets than the old propellant planes considering the massive hype of IAF supremacy in South Asia. Nonetheless, a good move and Pakistan should do the same to display all the block 2′s they have now from F16s to JF17s and the UAVs… bring ‘em out guys …. for fun at least!! :p

To all the guys crying about lack of fighter aircraft: This is more of a commercial event rather than a jingoistic show of force. India has already finalized fighter deals for the foreseeable future. And well, we don’t really need to show off, if you get the gist of what I mean!

This is how it looks when the Air Aerobatics team start performing.. You are up close..

Americans(with their F16s and other civilian companies), Europeans(with their Eurofighters and Airbus), the British, French(with their Rafael which India is buying), Russians(with the Sukhois, Helicopters), Israelis(with their UAVs and other defence goodies India will lay its hands on) and even the Chinese are making a presence.

Basically the world world’s who’s who of aviation is in Bangalore right now(where I live), except from Pakistan.

No wonder its Asia’s biggest Air Show and the only show where all the NATO countries + Russia have been bringing all their goodies. The ONLY! We are the only power everybody seems to trust and like..

For us civilians, we get to see the high tech machines up close for 500 Rupees, which is 1000 something Pakistani Rupees. Not to mention the aerobatic teams.

Not sure why people are complaining about fighter jets performing, it is clearly stated in the article. It is a Trade show, not a military one.
