    Yesterday, scanned all the major Indian news websites. Cudnt find even a single such gesture from their side extended towards Pakistan. Dont know for how long and why we have to tolerate this one sided aman ka tamasha by our ultra liberals………………………………………Recommend

    @Mariah,

    You missed obvious things from the mainstream Indian news papers

    There are so many images of Pak flags and celebration that you actually have to make efforts not to encounter them.

    Happy independence day.

    I repect Pakistan and Pakistanis, but how can you say that. Whenever there is a celebration, newspapers do post photos of it. I don’t get how this is desparation! India is already known, we don’t need to promote ourselves. What we should promote is the friendship between our countries together. Stop all this slamming each other and be friends

    @Kartik….that’s more about india’s celebration… one joint pic at Wahga doesn’t count as a positive gesture towards Pakistani community.

    @ET… was this required??

    ET Do you serve Pakistanis or indians? Why do you make it so obvious that you do for latter. Indians are no friends and never will be. We may not want confrontational, but we are forced to be in posture of confrontation when encountered with ignorants from east.

    Also, Let me know how many pics are required to consider it as positive gesture because there are 100s of them…To share a few of them

    Looks like you’re too obssessed with India and find fault in everything…
    The duty of a newspaper or channel is to show what will generate more views and clicks,as they’re all dependent on the ad revenue

    As Pakistanis are obssessed with India,in both good and bad ways.They show news about India..

    whereas in India,other than the North West belt,noone gives a hoot about Pakistan except during a cricket match…
    Cry me a river,but I dont think NYC allows a celebratory parade for Pakistan Independence day like they do for the Indian onesRecommend

    Totally agreed!!!

    Indian newspapers did carry pakistani independence day news, but not much.

    Today there is a news about sweets being distributed at wagah, followed by small arms fire from pakistani rangers. That is news in India.

    Frankly, in India, people are wary of Pakistan, not its people.

    we in India wonder, why there are persistent firing at our borders posts. It has been a regular affiar this year.Recommend

    @Kartik these are the joint indo-Pak celebrations that take place at the Wagah border and honestly speaking other than some NGO aunties and uncles the ordinary ppl r just least bothered about them.

    @1984
    Yes they dont have any Pak obsession, perhaps this is the reason that any Pak related news item gets the maximum comments there, let it be Hafiz Saeed or Veena Malik.

    Kartik – please stop trying to placate the Pakistanis here – we don’t owe it to them; they owe it to themselves to learn the complete truth about what goes on in the world – you can’t force the ostrichs’ heads out of the sand.

    For all you Pakistanis complaining about useless ‘aman’ talk – I assure you the feeling is quite mutual. My grandparents come from Sargodha and Sialkot and they experienced in 1947, how much ‘aman’ you people are capable of.

    ET, therefore Pakistanis, have set a noble example which should inspire Indian media. It is a wonderful gesture & you will go up in esteem. If no reciprocity is sought, you would be nobler still. Not so much for claiming higher moral ground but for sheer decency you have every reason to feel good about yourself.

    You guys really need to grow up. Like it or not, we were once PART of India – we share a very similar culture, and language and clothing (to a certain degree). And at the end of the day, we’re all human beings before anything else. Our governments may suck, but we, the common people can end this stupid hostility and stop acting like immature children. Yeesh. Happy Independence day, India!

    Indians will never be friends with any religious state…. you will never get respect BUT you will not be hated…. Not getting respect for your religious choices and religious preference over nationhood is your fault. By the way 99% of your society thinks they are muslims before Pakistanis…uhh why cry for respect when you consider yourself muslim before Pakistani….

    Honestly,noone knew about Veena Malik before she appeared on Bigg Boss and for Hafiz Saeed,he was rarely known till the 26/11…

    They are getting comments because they’re directly or indirectly involved with India….

    Honestly,I or most of the Indians dont know any Pakistani art personality other than Atif Aslam,Rahat Fateh Ali Khan,Ali Zafar and Nargis Fakhri and thats because they have performed in India…whereas an average Pakistani knows many of Indian personalities..

    However,looks like you’re on an emotional overdrive for us “insulting” you by not publishing your independence day…Take deep breaths,have a glass of water and then read,,You will get my point

    Except for a few misguided people (both in Pak and Ind), most people really don’t care about who hates whom. Probably, the people hate their own governments more than their respective neighbours. Religion was the main tool used by British to divide us, and our selfish and corrupt politicians ensure that the tactic doesn’t die. International boundaries are only for the governments.

    Irrespective of which side of the boundary they are on, at the end of it, all are just human and want to live a good, peaceful and happy life – free from fear, corruption and inflation.
