The place where a lay-man is struggling to meet both the ends meet and continue with the loaf and bread, but!,the BENGAL AND SIBERIAN TIGERS are getting caged-up in SAFAREE AND GANDHI GARDEN…who would manage to ‘comply’with their ROARS of hunger, starving for a wholesome animal to gulp-in down.I have very passionate sympathies for these two species ,may the keeper realize that it is not any a joke but matter of painstaking issue

Private sector should come forward and support the zoo. These beautiful creatures deserves an outstanding enclosure.

I have seen white tigers in Al-Ain zoo in the UAE, the living conditions are really different for the tigers there, they are not sitting on paved floor but rather their natural enviornment. I suggest the Karachi zoo management colaborate with the Al-Ain zoo and the San Deigo zoo authority and get a better understanding on how they can host these wonderful creatures.

Lions and tigers do not eat chicken – can someone please send them back. They will die here. We do not have the expertise. This is a tragedy waiting to happen.

Disgraceful. What suffering and loneliness these poor creatures had to suffer – not to say that they were ‘imported’ like products for people’s sick sense of entertainment… :(

Lions and tigers eat all types of meat, including chickens, Random. THE, Al Ain zoo is good because they have experts design the zoo and experts running it. Plus they CARE. We need to care even before we think of collaborating with any zoo.And immooo / nooneinparticular, I agree fully that private sector, especially the corporate sector needs to come forward to give us a great modern zoo, good for the animals and good for the visitors. But if private sector is to put up a lot of money, they would want some control too, to ensure money is not wasted and care/upkeep is also regular. Will our bureaucracy allow this? There is so much more to this than meets the eye.

This is a tragedy waiting to happen. The white lions are already looking ill and are in a pathetic state.

What a sin and crime to import these poor creatures to the negligent and cruel zoos in Pakistan.

Pakistani zoos should be blacklisted by international zoological organisations and exporting animals to Pakistan should be banned.

May Allah SWT keep these magnificant creatures safe and may He protect them from all harm. Ameen.

The real beauty lies in their freedom that is where they belong not the zoo I think keeping them in captivity for joy is like stealing their will to live.

These animals were probably born in captivity. Releasing them into the wild will mean death by starvation as they have no capability to hunt down wild prey, which will be too fast for them. Hunting skills, including approach, stalking and the final rush on the prey are vital skills that cubs in the wild learn growing up from their parents. Zoo or captivity born animals are thus destined to live in a zoo. But there is no reason except apathy and lack of compassion, that one cannot make their lives in zoo good for them. Open-air, natural ground, large enclosures with simulated natural habitat should be built. Then dedicated keepers need to carry out behavioral enrichment on a continuous ongoing basis, to keep the animals mentally and physically active.
Good zoos can thus play a huge role in creating understanding and support for the conservation of wildlife in the wild.
