The Express Tribune staff on the 2nd anniversary of the daily.
Cool people :)
Success is sweet: the sweeter if long delayed and attained through manifold struggles and defeats.
keep up the good work
what a difference between KPK and other station team.don’t seems energetic…
refreshingly bold, beautiful, intelligent, and smart people.
WOW, what a cool lot of brains! keep it up Team Tribune, you keep us well and rightly informed!
Not a very experience lot. No wonder why ET works so immaturely.
Kudos to a winning team!!
Congrats to ET and team members. And as well very cool staff there :)
seems ‘chadar less’ is a new fashion in Pakistan.Educated class is increasingly becoming more and more westernized and instead of adopting western values like innovation, honesy, punctualality etc we, as urban Pakistanis, are more intrested in to copy their looks. Learn English, watch Hollywood, enjoy chinese but please for God sake don’t abandon your own culture.
Team work is the key to your success! All of you pull in the same direction. Great work!
Bunch of nice looking :)
Web team looks coolest
A Blend of East & .Recommend
Congrats to ET and team
I wish you printed their names……..congrats on anniversary and staff, good job. Keep it up.
congrats to tribune for the quick success.
but with quick success comes great responsibility. i hope the team will be able to maintain it’s high standards of reporting.
from the eastern side of wagah border
@Ali: Exactly my words!
Representatives of the class over the bridge …..nothing wonder what comes from them
very true buddy
Gr8 effort and team with full of energy ….. coooooooolll
You guys look like an educated yet fun team. I would’ve appreciated if you had captioned the pictures, so the readers could tell who was who. I like to put faces to names that I have read or seen printed, just a thought.
Happy 2nd anniversary and best of luck for the future!
loved web team & Peshawar team :)
since when did wearing a chadar guarantee a person having values, or made them continue following culture? feudal men love wearing long wide chadars, but they also beat up men and women who work for them….does that make them better humans just because they wear chadars? or is that cultural too?
Peshawar desk rocks!
My congratulations to Express Tribune and the entire team on completion of two successful years in print media. ET is a good addition in the English language newspapers published from Pakistan. May Allah give more success to ET and the entire team. Faizan Saati – lagay raho Bhai. You have landed at the right place on the right time. Wish you the very best for your future.
M. RAFIQUE ZAKARIA
Thanks for the slide show. I have to admit that since the day I discovered ET, I have never been to any other Pakistani news website.
All Things Bold And Beautiful!
Well done team ET for unbiased Editorials, detail stories and perfact analysis. Keep it up
working for English newspaper doesn’t mean you need to wear English as well. Arab, Indian, Iranian women wear their national dress proudly and we should as well!! Please don’t associate chadars with feudal lords because the point you making about feudals is totally irrelevant! Recommend
Well I just want to say that Express tribune has adopted western values too. I can see honesty, reality in ONLY this paper. I am not a big fan of newspapers. But I want to read this paper everyday….. to know what exactly going on in Pakistan. They are not sold to some political party or some people with authority and money. Some Blogs were amazing to read. They don’t care about anyone’s religion and faith which i appreciate allot. That is what our country is lacking “TOLERANCE” for everything. Yes i believe that what you said about ‘Chadder less” comment but don’t you think its their personal matter between them and God.
Congratulations. Just great. The best. Good luck. Keep it up.
Congratulations !! Burger People !!!
What’s wrong if I want to adopt Western culture? We deny our local Indian roots, but also talk about culture. There is no such thing as permanent culture. Culture evolves over time. In the globalized world, you cannot stick to your grand ma’s world view.
What is wrong with you…? Why do you expect and demand of others to follow your standards? Since you have trouble with women wearing ‘westernized’ clothing, I want you to stay true to your words and only wear shalwar kameez (or a thoub, since you probably consider arab culture our own too). After all, charity begins at home.
ET is a media company any society would be proud to have. I beleive that the measure of health of the pakistani is directly proportionaly to the size of the readership growth of ET and similar media outlets. So more readers you gain, the more healthy and balanced the pakistani society becomes. Congratulations on your second anniversary and hope you have many more of these in the future.
Congrats to the Tribune Team…
I happen to come across this website when I clicked on a OBL death related news and then got hooked to it..I find that most of your articles are straight forward and truthful especially in a country posing so much influence on press freedom..
If the mods are reading this, could I have a small suggestion??
I see many Indian and Pakistani trolls who try to engage in logicless debates based on unverified facts(fantasies) and blogs written by random introverts..Some of them write just to create animosity and fish for negative replies just to satiate themselves…
Whether Indian or Pakistani,Please allow people who wish to indulge in a logical discussion, not someone who spew hate-filled bile over the forum which damage relations even more..
I hope that Express Tribune be a place where Indians and Pakistanis indulge in healthy discussion and remove their biased perceptions over others
Only Lahore Desk is has free time on their hands to make the pics? What about the rest?
Congratulations on reaching your 2-year mark
U’re a using a laptop/desktop invented and manufactured by Westerns..using a Western language called english..accessing internet created by westerns…u might have been vaccinated by Western medicine as a child that u’re still alive…and the list goes on..
But u’re commenting few independent and fearless women for their dressing style…
Why didnt you notice that almost all of the men were wearing pants and shirts which was imported from British…
Why didnt u ask about that??
Are u wearing shirt instead of that Salwar Kameez type of suits which traditional muslims wear??
If you’re answer is yes, then stop questioning others..
If you’re answer is no,then also stop questioning other’s dress…
All I can see that the women in these photos are wearing dresses which is covering their body properly and dresses which are perfectly accepted as normal office dress code..
If u get offended or titilated by this, please refer urself to a psychiartist…U could save some girl from acid attack or rape…Recommend
Where is Jan Haider???????
Nice but most of guys don’t look as posh, rather very simple. Which is good to know. And congrats. I wish you all the best.
Keep it up whole team…..Specially i like Saba imtiaz`s work.
Keep it up, we love u tribune Pakistan
To my friends I recommend Tribune. Thats a testimony to the good job you guys do. Please keep it up. I know its a Pakistani paper but I would like to see some mainstream columnists from India ( preferably centre-right ) also write here.Recommend
Congratulations and all the best.
Congratulations ET on the 2nd anniversary. Good to see the faces behind a great newspaper. Keep it up ladies and gentlemen, we look forward to reading your paper everyday!
No pics of your Censorship Desk who censor our any unflattering comments on your reporting?
When readers criticize your blatant partisanship for ethnic terrorists destroying Karachi’s peace, burning buses, collecting bhatta for 30 years, you the Censorship Desk don’t even publish their comments because you are either sympathetic towards them, or on their payroll, or are afraid to publish any view critical of them.
No ethnic diversity in ET staff! All English speaking burger class in Westernized attire or Urdu speaking ethnic class with ethnocentric worldview.
Do you have any Sindhis, Pashtuns, Punjabis, and Balochs on staff other than a token presence as office boys or peons or drivers?
I love the site and now that I have seen the team behind it it makes the read all the more interesting.
Great job to all of you and keep up the good work and be sure to maintain your Edge!
Best Of luck!!
Congrats ET. Lahore desk i am watching your pictures and guessing who is not allowing my comments to come on air when it is against PMLN.
You are among the finest and builder of tolerant Pakistan.
I wish ET the best in future.
God bless all of you.
Where is Op-ed?
One thing I can’t but note is that during your 2years how people, honest people like ALI, make a genuine heartfelt comment, we have the usual vigilantes shouting them down…
Surely everyone is guaranteed a right to express oneself without fear of prosecution?
Secondly, what has western technology got to do with anything? What a lame argument? That western technology was probably built in China (our buddy) and the origins of which were based on algebra – a Muslim invention!!! So who did what and when? Silly nonsensical argument to say the least…
Re culture? What Indian culture? India is a large area and there is nothing such as Indian culture! What I believe you have is Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujrati culture which are all quite unique and different to one another. What we have in Pakistan is almost a widespread, but with a common theme binding the cultures – Islam… Not being a mulla, but think about it; sati is not part of our culture, nor worshipping the cow (no offence to any Hindus).
CONGRATULATIONS to the whole team !!!!
@Where is Censorship Desk:
Dude, as it can be inferred by the fact that your comment was not censored, there’s not censorship desk. And by the way, did you just raise an objection to an English language newspaper for hiring English speaking people? :s
Why are missing Islamabad photographers?
ET have well educated ,talented and decent and modern Team .
Congtz on 2nd anniversary.
ET is the only news paper which cover all the news without hesitation related to any one.
Keep its up. God Bless you all ….!!!
Unprofessional bunch of people
ummm…. they dont have names?
What can I say. I LOVE TRIBUNE. EXCELLENT coverage of news and highly talented team! Great Work.
Hats off to Express Tribune Team..Well done and keep it up. Wish you success and all the best.
Well mate….. your interpretation of Ali’s comment is totally wrong…. first thing: he didnt say everything western is BAD….. whatever u have criticized about his use of technology and what not is actually that guy is trying to draw our focus to…. THAT WE MUST ADOPT THEIR VALUES AND THEY ARE:
SUPREMACY OF MERIT,
ELIMINATION OF CORRUPTION
ELIMINATION OF ILLITERACY, POVERTY AND SO F*G ON…
have we (pakistanis) ever tried to copy the west in these things? HAVE WE? Do u see any of these things ANYWHERE in pakistan???
bare-chested women OBVIOUSLY incite men WORLDWIDE…. thats a FACT and you canNOT deny nature
Maybe ET should have a similar get together for their columnists.
Congratulations ET team. You are young in mind, body and spirit. You are bringing a fresh approach and ideas to news reporting in Pakistan. You have been leading from the front and showing others how to make news and views interesting, intelligent and informative. May the force remain with you and wish ET to go from strength to strength.
I know only Zarrar. Who else is there? Please caption. Come on, you run a top English newspaper in this country. Every photograph worth its salt must have a caption in paper or a magazine.
I’m sorry but I see that these girls are wearing the same kind of dresses which my office allows…
My office allows
1.Salwar or Churidar
3.Formal shirt and pant
What it doesnt allow
1.t shirts or tight shirts
We have guidelines for men too…No tight shirt,no faded jeans,no collarless t shirts,no cargoes or 3/4…
I see that these women are wearing what a normal office allows and Salwars are part of South Asian culture not western or English culture…
I’ve no problem working with women wearing these kind of dresses and I’m doing the same…
But then again, there are men in the world, who would stare even at a hijab clad woman….
But the bottomline is the HR Policy of the company, not what others think..If an employee doesnt violate the dress code of the company..Why should they heed the grievances of a random guy typing over the internet
Shehryar Musa Khel Duranni Popalzai !!! You’ll never change. Congrats.
I never saw journalists and such are so glam and stylish….Cool :)
which one of you moderates my comments?
@Frantic: bare chested women? where???
congrates buddies, your work is too gud instead of others, but i am surprised to see your biggest team, kindly keep work hard and make best position of your ET as looks todays.God ever shine U.
The criticism @Ali comment has received more than proves that he spoke the truth.
Kudos to Express team for working hard and becoming conspicous in the battlefield of monopolozed newspapers,
Where’s the web / blog desk ?Recommend
I love ET … very innovative , creative and brimming with new ideas
Web TeaM….. behtareeN… :)
Regarding the dress code the fact is that the one commanded by Allah and preached by Prophet (PBUH) is the best, if you belive on the day of judgement.
Congratulation all team centuary publication
All the best in future
where is my complimentry copy
Congratulation for yours tremendous job!
with best hope
This ET is the most spiciest english newspaper of pakistan.
I always wonder, why all the people working in a renowned firm/organization are good looking (or why only the good looking people make it to these organizations)?!
Please guys stop making sign of Mason. This sign relates to those who worships Evil. Anyone can check on net if I am wrong.
Keep up the good work and we are so proud of ET.
Well done with the looks, the fashion, and poses; they’re very western. Except your not in the west, but in the east; yes, in the land of the pure!. A land that was dreamt to have an advanced culture (which includes your language; Urdu, that today is anything but the refined urdu you were meant to have) and civilization – which ostensibly never came about.
I appreciate your website, but the fact that 95% of the Pakistani population hardly speak or understand english gives us western readers a very dim view of the literate ‘English’ speaking class who tend to discrimiate against their illiterate and non-english speaking peoples. The false desire in Pakistani society to speak english, or shove an english word into every sentence with their urdu (which has become terribly cliched in Pakistan) does an absolute disservice to its countrymen.
Languages do evolve, but not at the pace or style as its happening in Pakistan. I suspect the use of English by the higher echolons of society is a means of keeping its people oblivious to their rights and supressing their indigenous culture and heritage.
You should take cue from countries like Japan, Korea, and your advanced neighbour like Iran who have developed their current prowess not by the means of ramming english in its everyday culture, but by using their indigenous languages to communicate efficiently with their people and better serve their interests.
@ all those criticising Ali
You people, out of your own bias have clearly missed the point he was making. (Especially you 1984!)
Keep it up doing good work!!!!!!!……Congratulations to all Tribune Staff
Such cute pictures :)
Keep up the good work.
And don’t let the ghairat brigade or the “Dnt do lyk da Vasturnurz” anti-burger types guilt you into reporting differently. You’re doing a pretty good job (you could be a little less left-leaning).
@Islamuddin: First you return home,, complementary copies are meant for ET reporters, not for EN reporters.. :P
What a nice English paper and equally smart staff. Is it Pakistan? keep it up.
Congratulations!! to ET and especially Ayesha Jahangir…:)
Thank you guys for providing us the latest news with different angles and fresh views.
As an American, something is not adding up for me. These young people look westernized and pretty much could be from anywhere in the modern world. I would have guessed indian if I knew nothing else. I guess I was expecting to see a lot more bearded Islamic faces that one sees on television in the west whenever Pakistan is mentioned. I guess I learned something here.
Forget about the looks and appearance
U guys rock….good work…keep it up
Thanks. I saw your greetings just now.
I didn’t know your followed ET. Anyways, thanks.
congratulation team nyc pics nd gr8 work mashallah
