Get The Look: Flaunting skirts, Anoushey’s way

Just as summer flows in, Karachiites usually begin draping in white and off-white like there’s no other option. But that has not been the focus this season, as we are set to see a lot of variedly-hued skirts around.

This trend dominated the Paris Fashion Week itself, where both street style and the runway were highly influenced by these flowing silhouettes in a variety of textures and prints. With actor Mahira Khan recently spotted wearing a red Élan midi skirt, it seems like local celebrities are already endorsing this trend. But, we think VJ Anoushey Ashraf remains unbeaten in how she carried off her skirt on day one of the ongoing Telenor Fashion Pakistan Week. Here’s how you can replicate her look in an affordable way.

Hair

Keeping in view Karachi’s humidity, Anoushey played it safe by curling up her hair. She was styled by Nabila’s for the event. You can also avoid frizzy hair by having moisture-resistant curls. To get this hairstyle, you will simply need styling spray. Use Paul Mitchell’s Heat Seal or Seal and Shine before styling your hair with a straightener or a curling rod, so that you can have long-lasting curls throughout the day.



Dress

The VJ-host donned an ensemble by FnkAsia. She looked absolutely gorgeous and unbeatable in a bold metallic skirt balanced by a neutral white top. The skirt itself gave a reflection of metal-scrap embellishments. “I haven’t worn FnkAsia for a while, but I sat down with Huma and we mutually decided what to go with,” Anoushey tells The Express Tribune. With the comfortable cuts of the skirt and summery feel of the white top, she enjoyed donning the look. Local cloth markets are flooded with screen-printed silks and you can easily find a print close to hers. Opt for jamawar if you want the skirt to boast a similar texture.

Make-up



We feel Anoushey looks her best in smokey eyes. She opted for a coral lip colour and minimal blush with highlighter, which gave her a subtle, glamorised look for the evening. To have perfect smokey eyes, you can use Mac’s Black Tied, Print and Forgery eye shadows paired with Rimmel’s Scandaleyes retro glam mascara. For cheeks, you can use Bourjois blush Sienne 85 and Wet n Wild MegaGlo, one of the most affordable highlighters. L’Oreal Rouge-Caresse lipstick in dating coral is the closest you can get to what Anoushey wore.

Shoes



Although we can’t see her shoes in the picture, Anoushey shared she wore a pair of Nine West strappy heels in gold. Strapped heels are a timeless classic and never go out of fashion. You can easily find a similar pair in an outlet of stores, such as Nine West, or a local shoe market.
